ELIZABETH PERRY
MS. BLACK USA 2025
Elizabeth Perry isn’t just wearing a crown, she’s rewriting the narrative of what leadership, service, and power look like.
She’s a doctoral student in Family Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a former Albert Schweitzer Fellow, where she created a fall prevention program that served over 200 seniors. Translation: she’s not just talking healthcare equity, she’s building it.
Elizabeth has served on boards, spoken on Capitol Hill, and sits on national committees for underserved communities, all while carrying her mission, With Kynd Regards… because the “Y” matters more than “I.” Her work shines a light on the gaps in healthcare access, maternal health, fibroid research, and mental wellness, issues that hit home for women of color.
She’s walked the halls of Congress, pushed for programs like the National Health Service Corps, and spoken out about the realities of cultural bias in healthcare because she’s lived it herself. Elizabeth knows what it feels like to be unheard in the medical system, and she’s determined to make sure other women don’t have to.
When she’s not changing the game in medicine, she’s serving in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where her commitment to sisterhood and service runs deep. Her life motto?
“Rooted in legacy, I rise with grace, lead with power, and shine unapologetically, because every step I take honors those who came before me and clears the path for those yet to come.”
Elizabeth lives in Birmingham with her husband Trevor (they just hit their 3-year anniversary) and their pup Bishop, proof that she balances powerhouse moves with a whole lot of heart.
